Cheswick Drive

The owners of this home wanted to build a single storey extension to the side and rear of their semi-detached house. This extension would provide much needed additional space as the current ground floor of the house is only two rooms, a living room and a kitchen/dining room.  The requirement was to create an extension that provided a new utility and WC to the front with a living/dining area opening onto the rear garden.

The existing unused single detached garage has been demolished to make way the extension. The proposed extension is simple in form with a flat roof, as this did obstruct any of the existing windows on the house or unnecessarily overshadow the neighbour. The large windows make the most of the views into the garden and increase the feeling of space. The front and side to the neighbour is finished in brick to match the existing house, while the side to the garden are timber clad.
