Gateway NE
Gateway North East are a charity who support Young People, Children, Families and Carers Affected by Disability in the North East. The current building they have in Easington Lane is in a very poor condition and does not provided the required spaces and facilities.
This scheme proposes the renovation of the existing building, including a new first floor within the roof space and two extensions. The spaces within the existing building will provide a range of activity rooms, toilets and changing facilities. Within the centre of the building a new 2 storey structure will provide a new secure entrance, circulation space and stairs and lift to the first floor. On the south end of the building a new single storey building will accommodate a hydrotherapy pool and plant room. Externally a new playground provided vital outside play space and includes a large covered canopy to allow for use all year.
