Wallsend Hall
Wallsend Hall is a Grade II listed manor house set in the heart of the Green Conservation Area in Wallsend. The hall’s main entrance, staircase and function rooms have retained their grandeur over the years and are currently used as a wedding venue. Unfortunately, however, the rest of the building has not been so fortunate. Having formerly been used as a hospital, the building has stood empty for the past three years, and its interior has suffered badly from neglect and vandalism.
This project aims to bring the entire building back into use by restoring the unoccupied spaces to provide a hotel and spa complex that complements the existing wedding venue. Externally, an adjoining vacant building will be demolished, and the grounds will be relandscaped to give the hall the setting it deserves.
The project has been stalled for several years while the current building owners conclude a transfer of ownership. Unfortunately, during this time the building has continued to deteriorate. However , we hold out hope that that the opportunity to bring it back into use will be possible in the near future.
